October 13, 2007

Hailey came crawling into bed with us around 7:30 this morning. She cuddled with me until 8:00 when she heard Max talking in his crib, and then she said "Max is awake, Max is awake!" and asked if she could go say hi to him. She ran to his bedroom and peeked in the crib. Max gets really excited to see her in the morning. They talked to each other through the crib rails until Bruce went in and got him out. Bruce made buckwheat pancakes with flax sead in them. I say yuk, but both Hailey and Max loved them. Oh well, it's healthier I guess. I still say yuk!!! Max ate his whole pancake and then begged for more, so Hailey and daddy shared some of theirs with him too. After eating breakfast, Hailey went and sat on our bed with some books and started reading. When Max saw her, he ran to his bedroom and grabbed a couple books too. He went and sat on the bed reading his books just like his big sister. They both sat there reading books for about twenty minutes. Lately he likes to copy everything Hailey does. I love listening to Hailey "read". She knows the stories pretty well, and if it's a new book that she hasn't read yet, she's pretty good at making up a story by looking at the pictures. We had to go to a couple stores today, so while we were out we went to the apple barn to get a treat. We all got cookies, and Hailey and Max had fun playing outside on the swings and in the treehouse. They also had a little playhouse made from bales of hay, and the kids liked sitting in there too. I got lots of good pictures while we were there. I was sure glad I had my camera with me today. In the parking lot at one of the stores, Bruce was carrying Max and they were walking between cars when some people were coming in the other direction. When Max saw them coming he said to them "Watch out". He must have noticed that they couldn't all fit between the cars at the same time. He said it so loud. He hasn't quite figured out how to use his manners yet, but it was still funny. The other people laughed too.
