Both of the kids slept better last night. They each only got up twice during the night. Bruce started working on the kitchen right away this morning. He's got one row of cupboards, three walls, and the ceiling all torn out. We have all our kitchen stuff moved into the dining room right now, including the fridge. Hailey is doing much better today. She doesn't have a fever anymore, just a cough. She was in a pretty good mood all day too. Max was still grumpy and not feeling well today. But he doesn't have that croup cough anymore, just a regular congested cough. He still cries every few minutes. While he's playing, he'll just start crying and need to be held for a while. He curled up on the couch while I was making lunch today, and by the time I was done he was sound asleep. When Hailey noticed him sleeping on the couch, she went over and looked at him and called me over to come see too. She thought he was so cute laying there like that. She kept rubbing his head and smiling at him. She loves her little brother so much. He slept for about an hour there. When he woke up. I tried getting him to eat some lunch, but he took one bite and was done. Then layed down in our bed and fell asleep again. He must have really been tired to fall asleep again a few minutes after just waking up. When he woke up from his nap, we went to the store to get some Pedisure since he hasn't been eating hardly anything for the last week. We gave him some of that as soon as we got home and he loved it. He kept asking for more "choc mal" (chocolate milk). Bruce took Max with him to go pick up a pizza for dinner. I let Hailey play with the bucket of rice while they were gone. She loves to dig for small things like marbles, paper clips, dice, and buttons in the rice trying to find them all. She also loves to pretend to cook with it, using measuring spoons, measuring cups, and bowls.

Rice...the perfect thing for kids to have in their play choice. I had a huge tub of it in the classroom that was used to learn measuring with cups, pints, quarts. etc. But watch out of the flying things if you keep the rice to long. Maybe it was the source of my bags of rice that got me into trouble. But...it's perfect and easy to clean up. Glad to hear the kids are better.

I love how Hailey adores her brother. Max sure is curled up cute on the couch - you can tell he doesn't feel well.
