We went to church this morning and then, afterwards, went to Pizza Hut for lunch with Nana and Papa. Jack made Nana very happy and said "na-na". Hailey had a coupon for a free small pizza for her reading program so she was excited to use it. She read the most books in her class, 111 in just 2 months! And we didn't even count all the ones that we read more than once, which was alot because they both have their favorite stories that they like to read over and over. I knew we read alot of books, but I didn't realize how many until we did this reading program where we had to write down the title of each book we read and hang it on the wall at school. The kids are always asking me to read books to them during the day and we always read books before nap and bedtime. It sure adds up quick. When we got home, the kids and I stayed outside to play while daddy did the trimming in the yard. We sat out on the porch swing while he mowed the back yard. Jack was sure interested in the mower. I was surprised he didn't cry about the loud noise. I put the boys down for a late nap at 3:30. Then Hailey and I went back outside. The neighbor kids came over to play for about a half an hour. Then I went in to do some laundry while Haley sat at the fence and talked to the neighbor kids. Jack woke up at 4:30, and I woke Max up at 5:00. I showed Jack the flowers on the cupboard that Hailey picked for me. I pointed to them and said "pretty". He then reached for them and said "pibby". He kept saying "pibby" every time we walked by them after that. Also at church today, he reached out to touch a picture on the wall and said "picture" pretty clear after I said it. He's really starting to try to repeat words. We ate dinner and Hailey went back outside to talk to the neighbor kids through the fence again while I did some more laundry. Max wanted to stay inside and play with his new cars that he got at the garage sale yesterday. After I folded all the clothes from the dryer and then started another load, we all went outside again for a little while until pj time.
Jack loved when Hailey started spinning him on the swing.

They were both singing and laughing the whole time I pulled them around in the wagon, so I had a hard time getting a good picture. One of them has a silly face in every picture I took.

Max is hugging Hailey here. He said in a silly voice "I wuv you" and growled as he hugged her tight. Hailey then said "I love you guys as she leaned back into Max and pulled Jack back hugging him at the same time.

"I gotta park da wagon."

He loved his new wheel barrow. He wanted to put the seed packs in it and push them to the garden for daddy.

"Now it's Haywee's turn. Mama, I sharin wif Haywee!"

"Mama, take a picture of me bawancin (balancing)."

Hailey was balancing here too but thought she saw a bee so she got off just as I took the picture.

Putting her garden gloves on. It's not easy getting all those fingers in the right spots.

They both liked sticking the stakes in the ground.

Helping daddy plant the garden.

Holding one end of the string for daddy.

Playing in the dirt.

Helping daddy plant seeds.

Cutie!

He would pick pieces of grass and then just stare at it for the longest time. He was very interested in what it felt like and tasted. I had to scoop a couple pieces out of his mouth.

Jack even layed right down in the grass to feel it with his hands and also to try to get a taste of it (mommy didn't let him though). He would open his mouth wide and go to lick the ground.

Jack fell asleep on the way home. I thought he looked so cute.

Rude awakening! He was asleep in his car seat, but Abby jumped in on top of him. Even though it kind of looks like he's smiling here, he's actually crying. Abby was just laying comfortably on top of him and didn't care that he was crying and trying to push her off.

I put the blanket back over the car seat to play peek-a-boo. (This is how I had it before Abby jumped in on top of him.)

He smiled big every time he pulled the blanket back and I'd say "Peek-a-boo".

This morning when Bruce got home from work, we left to go get our plants and seeds for the garden. When we got to the green house, Hailey and Max climbed in a wagon right away. Hailey asked to hold Jack so he could ride too. When I backed the wagon up to turn it around, Hailey and Max both started singing "Back up Mator, back up Mator..." They sang that over and over and over the whole time we were there. Even Jack started singing along. I couldn't make out what sounds he was using, but it sounded like he was trying to sing with them. I pulled them around while Bruce got the plants. They loved when I pulled them down the small hill. We stopped at some garage sales on the way to grandpa's house. I gave the kids each a quarter to spend. Hailey picked a silly bunny hat and Max picked a plastic wheel barrow. We hit two great garage sales, one with girl clothes for Hailey and one with boy clothes for Max and Jack. When we got to grandpa's house, Hailey got the wheel barrow from the van and handed it to Max. She said "I got a good idea. If you share your wheel barrow with me then I'll share my bunny hat with you. We can take turns. Max was pushing the seeds to the garden and then picked it up and said "Here Haywee I will share with you." They both each grabbed a handle and started carrying it to the garden. It fell apart while they were carrying it up in the air, so I put it back together and told them to just push it until I could tape the small crack in it. They took turns pushing it and would switch every few steps. They then put thier garden gloves on and started helping. They both wanted to dig the holes with the small shovel. Hailey got it first and Max said "But why do Haywee got a shovel and I don't?" I told them they had to take turns cause we only brought one shovel. He whined cause he had to wait his turn to dig and said "But dat's not fair." He was happy when I told him he could help daddy put the plants in the holes. After they each took a turn doing a few plants, they decided to play in the dirt. They had fun filling the wheel barrow with dirt. Hailey said "This is called soil. Soil is very good for plants. Plants need soil to grow." When it was time to plant the seeds, they wanted to help again. Max really liked helping with this. He grabbed a handful of seeds and dropped them in where daddy showed him. He said "I a good farmer boy." He helped daddy do a whole row and then went back to playing in the dirt. He liked picking up rocks from in the dirt and loading them in his wheel barrow. Jack sat in the grass and kept picking it. He really liked feeling the grass with his hands. He managed to get a couple pieces in his mouth. He cried when I scooped them out. Grandpa was shopping with my mom and they got back shortly after we started the garden. I told grandpa he just missed couple big turkeys out back, one with it's tail feathers spread out. Grandpa picked some radishes and daddy decided to let the kids try one. Hailey licked it but didn't like it. Max bit right into it and kept going back for more bites. He still likes most vegetables. I can't really think of any that he doesn't like. We stopped at McDonald's for lunch and also stopped at another garage sale on the way home. I found a bunch of small Tonka trucks and John Deere tractors and a bag of zoo animals. I let Max play outside with a couple of the tractors before putting him down for a anp. Jack had fallen asleep in his carseat, so I left him in it and covered it with his blankie hoping he'd stay asleep. I kept peeking in the house to check on him every few minutes while the kids were outside playing. I had Abby out with us for about 10 minutes but then she went to the door begging to go back inside. I let her back in. When I peeked back in to check on Jack, he was awake crying becasue Abby had jumped in the carseat with him and was laying right ontop of him. What a rude awakening! I made her get off of him and then put the blanket back up to play peek-a-boo. Jack would smile so big as he pulled it back to see me and then I'd say "peek-a-boo". He laughed when Abby jumped back on him again. I had the kids come back inside and put Max down for a nap. Hailey played with the zoo animals while she rested. I woke Max up after an hour and a half. Then Max joined Hailey and they played with the zoo animals together. After dinner, we went back outside to play. I pushed the kids on the swings. They sang "Back up Mator, back up Mator" while they were swinging. Jack again started singing along with them. It sounded something like "bop bop may may". He even had the right tune. It was so funny. Hailey was laughing so hard. She started singing it the way Jack was. Jack would sing it and then laugh cause Hailey was laughing while she was singing. I got out the bikes and cars for the kids to ride on. Max filled his dump truck with a bunch of stuff. Hailey was hiding on me in the slide and Max drove his dump truck in the grass to come show me what he had in it. He said "This is my work truck. Look it what I got in it. I got lots of things. I got fishies for fishin'. I got a bucket for my worm. I got..." Then Hailey came out from inside the tube slide, and when Max saw her he said "Oh look! Dere's Haywee, my fwiend! (I was lucky. I actually caught it on video. I thought it was cute how he was describing everything he had in his dump truck and started videoing. He said it just as I pushed record.) Then he got off his truck and ran over to play with her. I decided to give them their snack outside before going in to start bedtime routines. While Hailey was walking around eating her cereal bar, she tripped and fell on the cement. She scraped both knees, so I took her in to get a bandaid. As I was putting the bandaid on her knee, Max said "Haywee I will pray for you." Then he folded his hands and prayed "Dear Jesus, Help Haywee's owies to get all better. Help her head to not hurt. Help her to not frow-up (throw up). In Jesus name, Amen." (He was praying for her head and not to throw up cause that's what happened when he fell and hit his head last week. He had a concussion so he was throwing up and had a headache for a week.) After he was done praying he said "Haywee feel all better now!" Hailey said "Thankyou Max." Then Max said "Haywee, I wuv you. Haywee, I wike (like) you. You are nice." Hailey replied "You're nice too Max. I love you and I like you." Since Hailey dropped her cereal bar and the puppy quickly got it and ate it, I got Hailey another one and we went back outside. After she finished her snack, the kids helped me put all the outside toys away before we came back inside. I gave the kids a quick shower before reading books and tucking them in bed.
