May 26, 2009 (Camping- Day 4)
It was cool again this morning, so Hailey put her sweatshirt on over her jammies and then a vest over that.
Bruce realized he left his keys and wallet in the cupboard of the camper, and he had to open it all the way back up to get them out.
We had cereal for breakfast this morning. Daddy played with the kids while I packed inside the camper. Bruce grilled hot dogs over the fire for lunch. Then we roasted marshmellows. I took the kids and the puppy for a walk while daddy packed up the camper. We played at the big climbing tree and also found another fun spot to go in along a small trail through bushes and trees. The kids played in there for awhile. We came back and I helped Bruce fold up the rug and pack some last minute things. The kids gave each other rides on the back of the tricycle. Daddy got the camper all folded up, and we were just about ready to leave when he noticed his keys and wallet were still inside the cupboard of the camper. He had to open it all the way back up to get his keys. We stopped to get a coffee and cookies on the way out of town. We got home around 5:00. Hailey played outside at the fence with the neighbor kids while Bruce and I unloaded the van and camper. (Max played in the sandbox with his tractors.) We got out the drink cooler and some cups for them all and they drank it as they visited at the fence. They finished the rest of what was left. Abby and the puppy next door were barking at each other through the fence. Jack started barking too and was laughing. It's not too often that Abby uses a real bark. She usually just cries and yelps. She sounds more like she's singing. The kids always laugh and say "Abby's singing." We made mac n cheese for dinner. Then daddy took Hailey and Max back outside while I gave Jack a bath. Abby went nuts and kept trying to jump in the tub. She almost made it when she used my leg to jump from. I caught her just on time. Then she kept trying to sneak in from behind me. Bruce sent Max in next so he could have a bath. He asked for his "cookin' things" and for his "choo choo twains fwum Papa Dan" He loves his bathtub trains. (Max seemed more back to his normal self today, not so many meltdowns and eating good.) I let Jack crawl around naked. He gets so hyper and fast with his diaper off. He was screaming as he crawled around. After Max was done playing in the tub, it was Hailey's turn. She also wanted to pretend to cook.
Abby has been going crazy since we got home, running around the house with all her toys. It's now 9:00 and Abby just stopped running and went to sleep.
