Then they would run and "slide".
"Let's squirt our heads and get all wet."
Then they started squirting each other.
Hailey decided to fix Jack's hair to make him look "handsome".
Jack had his surgery for the circumcision revision this morning so my mom came over to stay with Haley and Max. We had to be at the hospital at 6:00. He couldn't eat or drink anything after 1:30 but he was still very happy when he woke up and smiling. He fell back asleep as soon as we got him in his carseat and started driving. He woke up just for a few seconds to smile at the nurses and then fell right back asleep. They took us back to the OR around 7:00. I sat in a rocking chair with him for a few minutes and answered some questions for the doctor. The nurse then took him and we went to wait in the waiting room. We both ended up falling asleep while waiting. They called us back at about 8:30. He was just coming to and crying when we got there. His voice sounded so hoarse from the tube. He was flailing his arms and the nurses said he was trying to beat them up. He quieted down pretty quickly when I held him. They had me try feeding him some sugar water from a bottle. He took a few sips but then got upset again. He was happy with just a pacifier. They made us stay in recovery for a half an hour and then moved us down to the surgical floor. He was still crying on and off but he hadn't opened his eyes yet. They had me try feeding him but he seemed quite confused and couldn't figure out how to latch on. He slept some more. Then he finally ate a little bit which made the nurse happy. After checking his vitals one last time they let us go home. He finally opened his eyes when the nurse was talking to him. After asking us if Jack has any brothers or sisters, the nurse told us to take home the gowns they had us wearing and also gave us a bag of stuff (bandaids, animal crackers, teddy grahams) for the kids. We got home around 11:00 just before my mom got back from picking Hailey up from school. The kids played outside for a little while and Nana pushed them on the swings. She said that Max was coughing alot so she prayed for him and then he said "My owies are all better from Jesus. Amen. Thankyou Jesus." Lately while we are saying prayers before bed he wants to pray for his owies. He says "And pray for my owies, and my slibbers (slivers), and my bwooses (bruises)." And he always ends it with "Amen. Thankyou Jesus." The kids loved the bag of goodies from the nurse. They also had alot of fun with the gowns. We cut them so they would fit the kids better. They played doctor for a little while. I went to do some laundry and when I came back, Hailey had layed one of the cut pieces of the gown on the floor and was squirting water on it with her doll bottle. She would squirt a little bit of water on it making a small puddle and then would jump in it. Every once in a while she would bend down and feel it with her hands like she was trying to figure out why it wasn't soaking through. I decided to let them have fun with it for a little while and moved it to the hallway with another blanket under it so the floor would stay dry. Hailey stripped down to just her underwear and started laying in it pretending to swim. It wasn't long before Max took his clothes off too and joined in the fun. They would squirt water on it and then run and crawl on their bellies down to the other end like they were trying to slide. It was pretty funny to watch. They sure were having fun. They were giggling so hard and both got soaked. Especially after they started squirting each other with the bottle. At least I had put a blanket down so other than having to wipe a few drips off the walls afterwards, everything else stayed dry. After lunch, I put Max down for a nap and Bruce took Hailey with him to go get groceries. Max and Jack slept the whole time they were gone. Actually Jack was still very groggy and slept most of the day. He woke up for a short while to smile at Hailey a couple times and fell back asleep until later this evening. Hailey got out some barrets and fixed my hair and then her hair. She asked Max if she could fix his hair too. He said no, so she started brushing Jacks hair. She wet her hands and made him look "handsome". She brushed his hair the whole time I was feeding him. His hair stood straight up the rest of the night. They said he would be fussy for 24 hours after the surgery, but he hasn't been at all. He's still been his happy self other than a little more sleepy. He liked playing on his activity mat this evening and was smiling and batting at the toys hanging above him. He only cried once since we got home and that was after I layed him down in his bed tonight. As soon as I picked him back up he stopped. He gave me some big smiles while we were cuddling on the couch. Now it's 11:30 and he's wide awake in daddy's arms. I think he had a very long nap today and now thinks it's time to be awake.

That was nice of the nurse to send home things for Hailey and Max. Looks like fun in the hallway. Max's prayer is cute.
Looks like Hailey and Max could have been a big help to Kimmy and Jared in the flooded bathroom. They could have soaked up the water quickly as they looked prepared in the hallway for such a thing. I love how Max prays and is so sincere. I am proud of you and Bruce how you teach them about Jesus. Love you all!!! xoxox
