Jack loved sitting on the table in the dining car looking out the window.
We woke up early, at 7:00, and went out for breakfast. Then we came back to hotel to pack and check out. We walked around the city and went shopping. We also walked over to the water tower which is a really pretty building that looks like a giant sand castle. It was one of the few buildings that survived the big fire of 1871. It was one of the few buildings that wasn't made of wood so that's why it survived. It was interesting to see some of the pictures and read some of the history. Then we walked down to see the lake. It was a nice long walk and Jack loved riding in his stroller the whole time. We went to the sub place again for lunch before heading back to train station. Jack was laughing alot in the taxi on the way there. Our train left on time so we didn't have to wait very long. We went to the dining car on the train and got a drink. We also bought a deck of cards with a picture of the train on it since I couldn't find postcards with one on it. I wanted to be able to show the kids what the train looked like. So we sat at the table and played a game of Tonk. It was alot of fun. I won. I told Bruce "You gotta get low in this game" just like my grandpa always says. Jack loved sitting on the table looking out the window. It was dark by the time we went back to our seats. We all fell asleep for a little while. We called and talked to the kids on the phone. They thought it was neat talking to us on the train. Bruce and I both curled up in our seats and fell asleep. Jack was already asleep laying on me. So we all got a nice little nap. We got home at 10:30.
