HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAILEY!!!

Hailey had another appointment at the Children's hospital today. She was seeing the neurosurgion the did her surgery. We got there a little early, so we took the kids to one of the play areas to play for a while before her appointment. Max liked pretending he was driving a tractor, and Hailey liked lining up all the little chairs to make a train. They also liked sitting and laying on the big circle seat. Max would grab the small circle in the middle and pretend he was driving an airplane. Hailey did really good for her appointment. She even went out with the nurse all by herself to get weighed and measured. She smiled back at us as she walked out with the nurse. Then the nurse gave the kids some stickers which kept them busy for most of the time we had to wait. Right before the doctor came in, the kids escaped out the door and ran down the hall a little ways. The doctor saw Hailey running and was very surprised at how good she was doing. Hailey went right over and climbed up on the table for her. And she did everything the doctor asked her to do, like walking on her heels and toes. The doctor was very happy to see she could do everything she is supposed to be able to do at her age and is also potty trained, which is what they were most worried about. It was a pretty quick appointment today since she didn't have to have any other tests done. We decided to go to the big mall on the way home so Hailey could do something fun on her birthday. They have a really big play area for the kids there and a carousel. After we ate in the food court, we let the kids play in the play area. They loved running around and climbing on everything. Hailey went right up and started talking to some other kids. Max ran around the whole thing a bunch of times before he stopped to play. I don't think he could decide what to climb on first. He got excited when he saw a lady bug on the floor saying "a bum, a bum" and then ran over to sit on it. Hailey found a little boy that was the same age as her to play with. Everytime Hailey noticed the carousel going, she would stop playing and climb up on the seats to watch. Max started getting tired after a while came and got his blankie. He only had about an hour nap today. He carried his blankie all around as he played and even layed with his blankie inside one of the tunnels for a little bit. After they had played for a while, we took them to ride the carousel, and Hailey got so excited. She was smiling so big the whole time. Max would smile and wave evertime he saw me as it went around. They both really enjoyed the ride. Then we walked the mall. The kids really liked going in the sporting goods store cause it was almost like an indoor zoo with a bunch of animals and waterfalls. They liked watching the ducks swimming in the pond and the fish in the big fish tank. There was one really big fish that kept swimming up right in front of us. Hailey loved standing in front of the glass and watching it as it swam by. But when I stood Max up to see too, he freaked out when he saw the big fish coming. He liked watching the smaller fish but that big fish really scared him. He screamed and then started crying. I was trying to get a picture of him looking at it like the one I got of Hailey, but instead I got one of him screaming. We walked through the rest of the mall and then got some cinnabons on the way out. We were at the mall for about 4 hours and it was past Max's bedtime when we left. It didn't take long before they were both sleeping in their carseats. All that playing must have worn them out.

Good catch on camera of Max screaming. That big fish does look scary. Glad Hailey's appointment went well.
