Hailey's Birthday Party

Max and Jacob liked blowing these things at each other.

Max climbed up on Papa's lap while he was watching TV.

We had Hailey's birthday party today. We had it at my parents house since our house is still a mess from working on the kitchen. When Hailey saw all the presents on the table, she picked one up and said "You can't tell me what this is cause it's a suprise." Then she turned it all around looking at it very closely and said "But I can think about it though." First we all ate sandwitches for lunch. We were all pretty full after that so we let Hailey open her presents before having cake and icecream. She loved opening her gifts this year. She was excited about everything she got, even the clothes. She also got all excited when she pulled out a couple receipts at the bottom of the bag and said "Mommy, I got coupons, I got two coupons." It was so funny how happy she was over those "coupons". She really loved the icecream sunday and birthday cake set from Nana and Papa. She wanted to play with it right away after she finished opening her presents. Jacob, Max, and Hailey all played with it while we got things ready for cake and icecream. Hailey was having so much fun she hardly wanted to stop playing to come eat her real cake and icecream. Bruce had to leave for work shortly after we had cake and icecream. Grandpa, mom, dad, Jared, and Kimmy all went outside to cut more logs. Max, Jacob, and Adam all went down for naps, and I got out the Leapster game that we got Hailey for her birthday. She didn't really know what it was when she was opening her gifts, but once I got it out of the box and showed her how to use it, she really liked it. We played with it until Adam woke up from his nap, and then Hailey put it down for a while to play with Adam. She asked to hold him right as soon as I brought him downstairs. She crawled up in the rocking chair with me and he leaned over to her like he wanted to go to her. He was all smiles and cooing alot while we were talking to him. Then Max woke up, so he sat up on my lap too and talked to Adam. Hailey got out the Leapster game again and started playing with it by herself. She did pretty good figuring out what to do even on the games that we hadn't played together yet. When Jacob woke up, he wanted to play it too, so Hailey let him have a turn. He liked the painting game. He picked the green, yellow, and blue paint, and after he colored he got all excited and said "Look me color green, yellow, blue." He was very proud of the picture he made. After we ate dinner, the kids started playing with the icecream set again. Hailey and Jacob had all the stuff neatly set up on the stool which was their table. Then they moved it all to a blanket on the floor to have a picnic. Then it started snowing pretty hard, so I decided I'd better leave before the roads got bad. We didn't get home till 9:30 and both kids were wide awake when we got home. Right away Hailey got the icecream set out of the bag and started setting it up on the end table in the living room. Max grabbed the balloons and started running around the house with them. He settled down pretty quick though once I started reading his books to him. After I got him in bed, Hailey asked if she could play her Leapster game quick before bed. I let her while I put away some of the stuff. She was excited to read her new book that she got for her birthday. After I read it to her, she wanted to read it to me. Champ usually sleeps in her bed with her everynight now, but he wanted to eat. She asked me to bring him back when he was done eating, so a couple minutes later when I went to take him back to her room, she was already asleep. She sure was tired.
