Max loved driving the firetruck while getting his haircut.

Excited to get her hair cut short.

She donated 12 inches to Locks of Love.

I also donated 12 inches to Locks of Love.
The kids had fun riding the train.

I wasn't going to put this picture on because Bruce looks silly in it, but I thought Hailey looked so cute. I told him I was going to start putting the pictures on anyway if he didn't cooperate for the camera.

Hailey playing with one of the girls she made friends with.

Hailey liked jumping from the cupcake to the watermelon.

Max liked sliding down this big chip.

Max would sit on the lady bug and then roll off of it doing a somersault.
Jack loved this lady bug. He was really talking alot to it. It was so funny.

Hailey had an appointment scheduled for 2:00 at the children's hospital for her yearly visit with the neurosurgeon. We decided to leave early at 9:00 this morning so we could stop at the big mall on the way there. We always like to stop and let the kids play there since they have a really nice play area for them to run around and burn off some energy after a long drive. They also have a Carnival Cuts in that mall, and Hailey has been wanting to get her hair cut. I liked how they cut (trimmed) her hair last time, so we decided we would let her get it cut while we were there. But the trip ended up taking us alot longer than we had planned because there were so many accidents on the way. We saw 6 accidents on the highway and three of them held up traffic because they had to block the road. It ended up taking us so long to get there that we only had enough time to stop for lunch, so we changed our plans and decided to go to the mall on the way home after her appointment. Good thing we left early like we did or we would have been very late. We went to McDonald's for lunch. The kids had fun playing in the play area. Max was so funny. Some kids decided to make a train going down the slide and Max just got right in with them. He certainly isn't shy. Then he was copying them going down on his belly. While waiting in the waiting room for Hailey's appointment, Hailey and Max made friends with a little boy. Max shared his cars so they each would have one to play with. He really wanted to bring all three of his favorite cars in to play with, so I thought it was sweet when he shared them all on his own. They had fun playing together. It was cute how they all squeezed on the chair so they could all sit together. They played together until we got called back. When we got back to the exam room, the nurse let Hailey and Max each pick out a stuffed animal to take home. Then she weighed and measured Hailey. While waiting for the doctor to come in Hailey had fun playing with the measuring tape they used to measure her head. She first measured all of our heads. Then she measured our arms, legs, feet, hands, and even our ears. She also liked measuring her stuffed animal. They told her she could take the measuring tape home with her which made her really happy. She always gets our measuring tape and goes around the house measuring things, so she was very happy to have one of her own. She said "I need it for my doctor kit so I can measure my babies." While we were still waiting for the doctor to come in, Hailey said "I know how to spell Jack backwards: K-C-A-J. And I know how to spell Max backwards too: X-A-M." Then she said "But I can't spell mommy's name (mom) backwards." I asked her why and she said "Because your name has two M's so it would be the same." She also started asking alot of questions about why she had to have the surgery. She was only 13 months when she had the surgery so we didn't think she remembered any of it. But then she started telling us all about her stay at the hospital and remembered so many little details. She said "I remember there was a couch and you slept on it." She also said "And I slept in a really big bed, and they made me lay on my belly and I cried." (Whenever they made her lay on her belly to check her back, she screamed.) She also remembered that there was another baby in the room with her and that she watched a Barney video. It sure is amazing that she remembers these things. Cause these are things we haven't talked about and we don't have pictures of either. She has always talked about how she remembers riding in the wagon and the dog coming to visit her, but we didn't think she really remembered them because those are things we do have pictures of. We just figured she thought she remembered it but really just remembered seeing the pictures. When the doctor came in, she had her walk on her tippy toes, heels, and stand on one foot. She was very impressed again, like she always is. She always seems so surprised at how well Hailey is doing. They act like they think she should be having some problems. As she was talking to us, she said "Wow, I really did a good job on this one.", seeming surprised at how well the surgery turned out with how involved it was. She said that her spinal cord was attached to the spine six inches and it's rare for there to be no issues even after the surgery when it's that involved. After we were done there, we headed to the mall. We got in right away for our haircuts. Max went first. He loved sitting in the firetruck while they cut his hair. He also got to watch the Cars movie. He was very good and didn't cry at all. He actually seemed excited about getting his hair cut. Then it was Hailey's turn. She picked the horse to sit on. We showed her a couple pictures of some haircuts and she picked the one she liked. They first put her hair in a ponytail and cut 12 inches off to donate to Locks of Love. After they were all done, they let the kids pick a sucker and a surprise out of the bucket. Max picked a yellow bracelet and Hailey picked a pink bracelet. Hailey loved looking in the mirror and feeling her hair. Then kids enjoyed watching me get my hair cut. I also donated 12 inches to Locks of Love. We asked the kids if they wanted to ride the merry-go-round or the train. They picked the train. We ate dinner in the food court. Hailey really loved her haircut. She was acting so cute the way she moved her head around and kept tucking it back behind her ear. It even seemed to make her more confident because she made friends with every girl at the play area, without even asking Max to go with her. She was very outgoing and having so much fun. I layed Jack on the floor to stretch out. He loved looking at the lady bug. He was screaming and talking to it. Hailey brought all her friends over to introduce them to me and to show them her baby brother. She asked them all if they wanted to hold him and let them take turns. As I handed Jack to the girls, she would tell them to be careful of his head and not to bump it on anything. Then she told them to move over a little bit just in case. She wanted them to sit in the middle of the floor so he wouldn't bump his head on the ladybug. It was so funny how she was telling them just how to hold him. She told them to make sure they keep there arms around him so he don't fall. Max was having alot of fun playing too. I couldn't get many pictures of him because he was moving around so much. He just ran from one thing to the next without stopping. He was just running and climbing nonstop. He would play with any kid that was near him. He really liked pretending to be a choo choo train walking along the edge of the big dish saying it was the "track". He also kept trying to pick up the big chip. Hailey was jumping from the cupcake to the watermelon with all her friends. We got cinnamon buns before we left. Max was so tired from a long day and no nap. He fell asleep after only a few minutes in the van and slept the whole way home. He was even snoring. Jack fell asleep pretty quickly too. But Hailey was acting very hyper and talking nonstop. She didn't fall asleep until we were about halfway home. We moved them to their beds and they only woke up for a drink and fell right back asleep.
