Day 2

Max liked pretending that the back of the couch cushion was the road.

Then he would put some of his cars in between the cushion and the bed mattress pretending his cars were in the ditch.

I layed Jack down in his bassinet wide awake.
Hailey rubbed his head until he fell asleep.

Trying to figure out why his hands were all wrinkly.
Jumping in puddles

I thought it was funny that Bruce ended up with the little pink umbrella as they walked to the bathrooms.

We all slept until 8:00 this morning. It was raining when we woke up. The kids came and cuddled in our bed for awhile. We had a pancake breakfast. Then the kids played and colored in the camper. I layed Jack in his bassinet while I was cleaning up. Hailey went over and started rubbing his head. He fell asleep and she said "I'm putting Jack to sleep for you, Mommy." It was still raining, so we got our swimsuits on and walked over to the indoor pool. We carried Jack over in his carseat so I could swim too while he slept. It took Hailey a little while to get off the step. She hung onto us really tight the whole time. Max loves the water. He would jump in to us and didn't even mind his head going under. He kept saying "I want to go under da water again, wif my head." He was also doing really good with kicking his arms and feet to swim. We swam until lunchtime, and Jack slept in his carseat the whole time. After lunch, I put raincoats and boots on the kids and let them go splash in the puddles. As we walked around the campground, they would jump in every puddle we passed. They also liked using their umbrellas in the rain. We had alot of fun and really enjoyed ourselves. Even though it was raining, it wasn't too cold and it wasn't lightening. When we got back to the camper, Hailey said "It's raining super hard, but we're having a fun day. Right Daddy?" I changed the kids into dry clothes and then put Max down for a nap. Hailey rested on our bed, coloring and drawing pictures with Daddy. They had fun drawing pictures using stencils too. Hailey made pictures for everyone. She started making a picture for Max and then asked daddy to draw a race car on it. She said "Max will love this." She gave it to him when he woke up. And he did love it. He didn't want to put it down and carried it with him everywhere. He even wanted to take it in the van with him when we left to go into town. As we were leaving the campground, Max said "I want to go camping." We told him we were going to get cookies and he said "But I want to go camping." Then he started crying cause he wanted to go back. He was worried we were going home. We stopped at a bakery and got cookies. Then we went to a cheese store. Before heading back to the campground, we went out to eat for dinner. While we were at the restaurant, I was holding Jack, and Max was sitting across from us with Daddy. After Max got done eating he said "Wanna hold me, Mommy? Do you wanna hold two babies? You Do?" Then he came over and crawled up on my lap with Jack. When we got back, we decided to go swimming again. We put Jack in his carseat again but he was wide awake this time. He was happy for a few minutes but then started fussing a little bit. When I got out to pick him up, a lady offered to hold him so I could stay in the water with the kids. She was sitting with her husband watching her grandchildren swim, so she was happy to help. Jack did really good with her was happy for a long time. We swam until 9:00 and then went back to get the kids to bed. Jack was cooing alot the whole time we were getting ready for bed. The kids were laughing at him cause he was getting loud and making some cute sounds. After we read our books, Hailey got a piece of paper and copied some of the words. She has been very interested in writing words lately. After writing copying some of the words, she brings us her paper and asks us to read what she wrote. It finally stopped raining, so after all the kids were in bed sleeping, Bruce and I sat out by the campfire. It as such a peaceful quiet night. We enjoyed talking and looking at the stars.

Here are some videos of the kids jumping in the puddles.

I love all the colorful raincoat pictures. How fun and what a great idea to let them play in their raincoats and boots with their umbrellas.
