Hailey and Jacob had fun using their cameras. Hailey wanted to try Jacob's camera, and Jacob wanted to try Hailey's camera. They went around taking pictures of everyone, including some of each other taking pictures.
After church, we had mom and dad over for lunch. We had a roast (our favorite meal) for Bruce's birthday, and then cake and icecream. While the cake was baking, my dad said it smelled good. I told him it was pumpkin cheese cake and he said "yuk". Then I told him I was going to try it and I don't like pumpkin. So he said he would try it too. And he liked it! (I liked it too. It was very good.) But can you believe it? My dad tried something with cheese! It had a cream cheese filling and frosting. Then we left to go to Kimmy and Jared's house. As we pulled in the driveway, the kids started screaming. They were so excited. Max went right for the ride on tractor. Hailey rode the tricycle, and Jacob rode the truck. Then Hailey went and got the bag of carrots and the kids fed them to the horses. Kimmy got Sammy out to put the saddle on him. Nutmeg went nuts and started running all over. She didn't want us taking Sammy out without her. Hailey brushed Sammy and asked lots of questions about the saddle and bridle parts. She was the first to ride. She did really well and even learned how to use the reins. Max rode next. He was a little nervous when he first got on but liked it as soon as he got going. He liked telling the horse to stop and go. I got on after the kids were done. I rode him around the yard for a while. Then Jacob wanted to ride. And after Jacob rode, Adam woke up from his nap. Kimmy brought him out to ride too. He didn't want to sit up on the horse by himself but liked riding with his daddy. Then I put Jack up with Uncle Jared. He was hungry though and started crying right away. After I fed him, I got back on and let him ride with me. He seemed to really like it and even started falling asleep once we started moving. Then we went inside so Kimmy could cut Max's hair. He cried but did better than the last time. He was fine with the scissors but didn't like the clippers at all. Jared made dinner. We had hotdogs, french fries, and corn. The kids played some more, and then Kimmy read some books to them. We put pajama's on the kids just in case they fell asleep in the van. We left around 8:30. They did fall asleep and stayed asleep when we carried them to their beds.
