Hailey's First Day of Preschool

Watching the fireworks.

Jacob came over to sit by Max and started rubbing his head.
Seeing who can smile the biggest.

We got Hailey up early this morning to get ready for her first day of preschool. She was very excited. She woke up very quickly and was talking alot. Today was a practice day so daddy went with her. He said she did very well and made a couple friends right away. When they got home, she ran in the house excited to tell me all about her day. Then we gave daddy his birthday cards and gifts. (Afterwards, daddy told me that Hailey had already given him the card she made for him first thing this morning. I guess that is the first thing she did when she woke up.) Bruce had to leave for work. The kids and I played a game. Max didn't quite understand how to play it, so he sat on my lap and "helped" me play. He liked copying Hailey, even though he would then flip his card over when it wasn't his turn and would excitedly claim that he got a match even though he really didn't. It was cute how he was doing everything he saw Hailey doing. After lunch, Hailey, Max, and Jack all took naps. When Hailey woke up, we went to make daddy's birthday cake but didn't have the right size pan. When daddy got home from work, he took the kids outside to play. Then we left to take Hailey to dance class. We stopped and got donuts and an iced cappuccino on the way. Hailey did very good in her dance class. She walked into her class by herself and danced the whole time. When she got out of class, she came up to me and said "I learned alot of new ones and a couple same ones." A company across from Bruce's work was putting on a fireworks show tonight (something they do every year) So we decided to go watch them. The kids love to go to daddy's work and got all excited when we told them where we were going. Kimmy and her family met us there. We ordered a pizza and ate it in the lunch room. Hailey asked to sit by Jacob and said "Good friends sit by each other." When it started getting dark, we went outside and got our chairs out. I sat with Kimmy in the back of their van. Max started out sitting in his little chair by Hailey and Jacob, but when he heard the loud fireworks, he wanted to sit by me. He got frustrated though because he still wanted to sit in his little chair too. Aunt Meme set his chair up in the back of the van with us, which made him very happy. Hailey and Jacob were saying the fireworks sounded like popcorn. Max heard them and then started saying "popcorn" after each one. When Aunt Meme asked him if they sounded like popcorn he said "Wes, it does." And he sounded so serious the way he said it.
The fireworks display was great and we all had such a nice time. The kids all fell asleep in the van on the way home. Bruce and I watched some TV and had a bowl of icecream before we went to bed. Oh yeah, and Max has been doing very good on the potty. He only had one accident today and even asked to go potty a couple times while we were away from home today, once at dance class and once at daddy's work. I sure am glad he's not scared of public toilets like his sister was.

Wow, Hailey's first day of school. Is she really to that age? I love the heading to school pictures. She looks cute. Her long brown pig tails reminds me of when you were younger. What a fun evening that was! I love how serious Max was when he'd answer "wes, it does".
