Kids Day at the fair

After blowing the wistle they would both cover their ears.

Sombody sure looks tired.
This morning we visited another preschool. We really liked it, and it will probably be the one we choose to send Hailey to. After talking to the principal and taking a tour of the school, we left to go to the fair. We stopped at McDonalds for lunch on the way. Today was Kids Day at the fair. We got the kids bracelets so they could ride the rides from 12:00 until 5:00. Kimmy and I also got bracelets so we could ride with them. First, we took them on the train ride. Max, Hailey, and Jacob held hands and jumped around excitedly as they waited in line. Then we rode the flying elephants a couple times. Hailey would raise her arms as the elephants went up. While Kimmy fed her kids lunch, Bruce and I took Hailey, Max, and Kenzie on the train again. Hailey and Max got to sit in the front and "drive" the train which they were very happy about. They liked ringing the bell and blowing the whistle. When Jacob and Adam were done eating, we all went on the merry-go-round. Then Kimmy and I took the kids through the mirror maze. It was fun watching them as they quickly learned to use their hands to feel where to turn. They giggled as they worked their way through the maze and found their way to the stairs. At the top, we had fun looking at ourselves in all the silly mirrors. Their is a huge slide at the top too, but we just worked our way back down the stairs and though the maze again to get out. It's just a little too big for them yet. After that, Kimmy and I took the boys on the farris wheel. They liked looking at all the little cars down below. Max kept saying "Are we up high wike a airpane?" The next ride we took them on had cars and trucks for them to "drive". This was all of their favorite ride. As soon as we would get them off they would run right back to stand in line to ride it again. They loved choosing which one they wanted to ride in next. Jacob and Max's favorite was the shiny silver truck, and Hailey liked the pink car the best. After many rides on the cars and trucks, we went for another ride on the merry-go-round. This time, Hailey and Jacob wanted to ride on the sleigh, so Kimmy sat with them and I stood in between Max and Adam. Then Kenzie, Hailey, Max, Jacob, Kimmy, and I all went on the spinning dinosaurs. We had so much fun on this ride. The kids liked helping us turn the big wheel to make the dinosaurs spin. They loved making it turn in one direction and then the other. After the ride was over, while we were waiting for the door to be opened, we pretended the big wheel was a table and the kids had fun making up different "meals" for us "eat". Before our time was up to use our bracelets, Kimmy, Kenzie and I all rode on the flying glider ride. That's our favorite and we ride it every year together. Jack was getting hungry, so we sat in the shade to rest while I fed him. We walked through the merchant barns and then the animal barns. The kids loved looking at all the different farm animals. As we were leaving, we passed the playground and Hailey and Max begged to get out of the stroller to play. Jack was getting hungry again, so we let them play while I fed him. We decided to get some cinnamon buns for us to eat later. A band was playing so the kids and I sat down to listen to the music while Bruce went to get our treat. The kids started dancing to the music right away. As we were walking back to the van, my mom called on the cell phone and asked us to meet them at Fazoli's. We didn't get home till about 10:00. We all shared a cinnamon bun before getting ready for bed. Tonight when daddy asked her what she thought about that preschool we visited today, she said "It was awful!" She told us she liked the other one better because it had toys (The one we visited today didn't have their classroom set up yet so there was no toys out. But the other one had the room all set up and the kids got to play while we talked with the teacher.) She also said she liked the other one better because it had a little potty instead of a big loud one (The other one had a bathroom right in the classroom with a tiny little toilet in it.) The toys and the potty is all the matters to her. But Bruce and I really liked that one and we're pretty sure we will be sending her there.
