We went to Aunt Dorothy's 80th birthday party today. We didn't go to church this this morning because the party was at 1:00 and we couldn't have made it on time. Bruce had to come home and get a few hours of sleep before the party. Tonight is his last night on midnights. We had a nice time at the party. Max and Hailey were really good. Max sat at the table and played with his cars just about the whole time. And Hailey brought her purse with her which kept her busy most of the time. Bruce took the kids out to another room to run around for a little bit toward the end. Hailey found a little four year old girl to play with, and Max started playing with a little girl about the same age as him. They were playing so good together and having lots of fun. Hailey was so excited to tell me all about her new friend. On the way home, we stopped at a shop and got cookies and brownies. Hailey and Max picked out a huge M&M cookie to split. When we got in the van and got the cookies out of the bag, Hailey said "But isn't that too much sugar for today cause we already had cake and icecream." She decided all on her own that she wanted only a small piece of her cookie and to save the rest for tomorrow. Bruce went back to bed as soon as he got home. And even though it was already 5:00, I layed Max down for a nap. He was very tired and getting grumpy. He fell asleep pretty quickly and I had to wake him after an hour so he would still go to bed good tonight. After eating dinner, Hailey wanted to do a project. So I had the kids color paper plates. Then I cut out the center and punched holes around the edges. I gave them a long piece of yarn so they could weave it through the holes and it kept them busy for a couple hours. I had to help Max get the yarn into the holes but he liked pulling them through the other side, and he also liked showing me which hole to put it through. They really liked what they made and found a place to hang them up right away when they were done.
Here are some of the pictures that Vikki took yesterday with her cell phone camera.
And here are some that my mom took.

That picture of Hailey in sunglasses is so cute. She looks younger in curls. I love the picture of the kids with their art project plates.
Vikki sure did take great pictures of Hailey in her costume. Love Mom
