Hailey was very proud of the "city" she built. She wanted me to take pictures of it to put on the blog.
Max lined up all his blocks to make a "fence for his cars to drive in".
All morning, the kids played with blocks. They made castles and cities. The kids were really hungry while I was making lunch. We were running a little later than usual, so while they waited I gave them each a bowl of grapes to snack on. Hailey got a piece of paper and some crayons and started drawing. First, she drew a bigger circle and then a bunch of smaller circles inside it. Then she drew just one small circle to the side. She said "I drew grapes and my bowl. And this is one grape that fell out." Then I noticed one grape out of her bowl on the table. She drew it just like she saw it. A few times today Hailey brought the phone to me asking if she could call Nana. She loves her little phone book and likes that she can dial herself. One of the times she talked to Nana, she said "Nana can you come over and stay for four hours?" When daddy woke up (he's on midnights this week), she asked him if she could call Papa Dan and ask him to come over. He told her that he wouldn't be able to come over today. Then she asked if she could call Grandma Debbie and ask her if she could come over. He tried to explain that they live too far to just come over anytime and visit. He told her that they have to go to work and Jessie has school. And that even if they could come today, they wouldn't get here till after bedtime. Then she said "But it's OK if they come late cuase they can just get a hotel and then we can swim."
