4th of July

Trying on Grandpa's boots

Max woke up early again around 7:30, and Hailey slept until 9:00. Max and I cuddled on the couch while we watched Max's tractor movie. Hailey and I played a game while Max took his nap this afternoon. When daddy got home, we left to go to grandpa's. First we stopped and got tacos from Taco Bell and took it over to eat with grandpa. We had a nice visit and the kids were very happy to see him. He's been camping with my parents so we haven't seen him in a while. We went to his house to take care of the garden a couple times while he was gone and Max was very upset when we left without seeing him. So he was very excited when we told him we were going to go see grandpa today. Max sat by Grandpa at the table while we ate our tacos. He scooched up right next to him and talked to him the whole time. After we ate we all went out to check the garden. Max and I snacked on fresh picked peas. The kids had fun running around the yard. We saw a couple of big rabbits run through the yard. Then grandpa and I went and sat on the porch. Max got his blankie and sat between us on the glider. Hailey showed off to grandpa singing some of her made up songs and dancing. Then Hailey asked daddy to play soccer. So they got the ball and kicked it around the yard for a while. When we got home, we got the van packed and the kids in their pajamas for fireworks tonight. Then we went outside to do some sparklers. The kids really enjoyed that. The neighbors were out sitting by the fire and asked us to join them. So we went over and visited until we had to leave for the fireworks. Hailey went right over and sat next to Connie. She really likes to talk to Connie and talked to her the whole time nonstop. Then we headed over to watch the fireworks. Since I can't handle walking far two nights in a row, we just parked in a parking lot further away to watch them. We got a great spot and could see them really well. And we didn't have to fight any traffic getting out. Hailey and Max both really enjoyed the show. Hailey was a little nervous at first covering her ears but soon relaxed and ended up really liking it. It only took us about five minutes to get home since we didn't get stuck in traffic.

That rock wall sure makes a good background for pictures. I love all the pictures.
