Making their hearts to decorate the table.

Bruce got up with the kids and let me sleep in. He got them ready and left so the house would be quiet for me. I didn't even hear them leave. They were still gone when I woke up around 10:00. When they came home, Max walked in the door saying "Mommy ,we got you flowers!" Then Hailey covered his mouth and said "Shhh!" She told me to stay in the living room. Then they all walked in each carrying roses for me. Hailey and Max each handed me their flowers, and then daddy handed me his, and even Jack had roses for me laying ontop of him in his carseat. It was so sweet. Bruce got a big vase and put them all together. They look beautiful sitting on my table. Bruce also brought me a mocha and some donuts. Many times throughout the day, Hailey would look through her bag of valentines that she got from her friends at school. We gave the kids their valentines from us. Max was happy to get a bag of his own stuff. He kept wanting Hailey stuff from school, but she didn't want him going through it. She was nice and shared with him, but she wanted to be the one to pick what he could have and she didn't want him messing anything up. He was really happy when Hailey gave him the valentine she made for him and I gave him another one from me. He carried them all around the house the rest of the day. After opening their gifts, the kids were very excited to see daddy and I open our gifts to each other. Then daddy started making a bunch of chocolate treats for us to eat after dinner. He made chocolate covered pretzels, marshmellows, cashews, and strawberrries. While dinner was cooking, we all sat at the table and decorated our hearts with buttons and glitter. This is our valentine day tradition and the kids really look forward to it every year. It's funny how something so simple can make kids so happy. Then we use the hearts to decorate the table for our candle light dinner. Hailey even made a heart for Jack so we would have one for each family member on the table. The kids always enjoy our candle light dinner and get very quiet when we turn all the lights off to light the candles. We always hear alot of "Oooh and Awes" Jack even seemed to enjoy the candles and kept smiling and looking at them. We had meatloaf and mashed potatoes and corn for dinner. And also some sparkling white grape juice. The kids thought it was so special that they got some "bubbly juice" too. Even though Hailey didn't really like the taste, she liked that she was getting something special and took a few sips. After dinner we enjoyed all our chocolate covered treats. They were so yummy, especially the chocoate covered strawberries. After getting the kids in bed, Bruce and I sat down to watch a movie. Later, Bruce brought out a surprise treat he had got for us, some really pretty cheesecake deserts from the bakery.
